Meet Theresa Knips, ATC
In January 2026, Theresa joined OALI as a part-time Athletic Trainer and transitioned to a full-time position in June 2026. She works closely with Dr. Harary in the evaluation and management of orthopedic and sports medicine patients, helping coordinate care, develop rehabilitation plans, and guide patients through their recovery and return to activity. She also assists with extracorporeal shockwave (ESW) therapy and laser treatments as part of the practice’s comprehensive approach to non-operative musculoskeletal care.
From 2018 to 2026, Theresa served as the full-time Athletic Trainer at St. John the Baptist High School, where she provided sports medicine coverage, injury assessment, rehabilitation, and return-to-play management for student-athletes. She joined St. Charles Hospital as a staff Athletic Trainer in September 2018, assisting with the Sports Recovery Program and working collaboratively with physicians, physical therapists, coaches, athletes, and families to support patient recovery.
Theresa earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Athletic Training from Marist University in 2018. During her academic training, she completed clinical rotations at several high schools throughout the Hudson Valley, as well as with Vassar College, SUNY New Paltz, Marist University Football, and Marist University Women’s Lacrosse. These experiences provided her with a strong foundation in the evaluation, treatment, rehabilitation, and prevention of athletic injuries across a variety of sports and competitive levels. Theresa has also served as a medical volunteer for numerous endurance and community sporting events, including the Woodstock Cycling Grand Prix, Marine Corps Marathon, and New York City Marathon.
Theresa is passionate about helping patients recover safely from injury, prevent future injuries, and return to the activities they enjoy. Outside of her role at OALI, she continues to provide athletic training coverage for local sporting events and athletic competitions, maintaining an active role in the sports medicine community.
